so you have bought your beautiful wedding dress and it doesn't quite fit you, then don't worry, we can help.
we provide a comprehensive specialist bridal alteration service in which we can transform your dress, into the dress of your dreams, ensuring that you feel confident, happy and comfortable on your big day.
every bride and every dress alteration is unique and different, so even the smallest of alterations can completely change the look of a dress.
we can help you with small alterations, to general repairs to a complete overhaul. we can certainly work our magic. alterations can consist of:
bridal dress hem shortening
bodice adjustments
strap shortening
lace over-layers
sleeves, shortening, tightening, adding new ones
Changing zip backs to corset backs, or visa versa
adding embellishments to give an extra sparkle
making belts or sashes
remodelling
restyling
general repairs and tidying, including broken zips
giving a new lease of life to a vintage /heirloom gown

all you need to do is get in touch with us, with the form at the bottom of the website or email us on hello@yorkbridalstudio.co.uk and provide us with your contact details, the details of your wedding dress - who the designer is and the style number, and your wedding date. we will provide you with a no obligation estimate of the work and book you in for your fittings.

fitting appointments
we always recommend that you book your appointment as early as possible, even if the wedding is not for another year.
we have our diary open for the year ahead, so it is better to get you booked in early as we do get booked up very quickly, especially during the peak wedding season - february to october.
the first fitting appointment should be within the 3 months prior to your wedding day.
if you have a tight deadline, or are in a hurry. we can still accommodate you. give us a call and we can see if we can fit you in, this will mostly depend on the time of the year, but we will always try to help you.
- our fitting appointments -
once you have booked in your fitting appointments, you will be looked after by one of our amazingly experienced seamstress. they will spend the time with you, to talk you through the whole process, making you feel at ease and this is when you will discuss all your requirements to make your dress perfect and to fit you beautifully. you will have the opportunity to try on any veils and accessories to go with your dress.
at the end of this appointment we will know how much work will be required and therefore we will set out a plan, with the suitable amount of fitting appointments. usually you will need at least three fitting appointments.

- final dress fitting -
his is the most exciting appointment, for sure. you will be trying on your dress after all the work has been completed and to ensure that you are happy. this is the time when you will see your dress finished. so it is very important to bring all the accessories with you, that you plan to wear on the day as you will see it all together. once you are happy with your dress, we will pack it up for you and show you how to look after it. you will then take your dress home ready to get married!! hurrah!
